Stock-car Racing lovers are in for a treat on Tuesday, 27 December, when racers from around the country will converge on Victory Raceway on Victoria Drive in Walmer to honour the legacy of the track founder Atta Victor, who sadly passed away on 2 December in 2016 after suffering a massive heart attack. Entries for the event are still open, with drivers from Bloemfontein, George, Oudtshoorn and East London having already booked their early-bird seats and confirmed their participation. Classes competing on the night are Pinkrods (lady drivers only), 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Hot Rods, Heavy Metals & V8 American Saloons.
This will be the 7th running of the Atta Victor Memorial Race & the main gates are set to open at 13h00, with the racing action scheduled to start at 18h00. Spectators are urged to load their braai stands and get there early to secure trackside parking in the terraced area along the back straight of the track. Entry to the event is R60 for adults, R30 for children under 13 and trackside parking is R50 per vehicle.
