The roar of polished engines and the sight of riders dressed in classic dapper style will once again take over the streets of Nelson Mandela Bay this Sunday as the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride returns for another memorable outing in support of men’s health awareness.
Hosted once again by well-known local rider Brett Thomas, this year’s event is expected to attract an even bigger turnout after approximately 200 riders participated in last year’s successful ride. Thomas is hoping to better those numbers this year as the global event continues to grow in popularity throughout the region.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride forms part of the worldwide Movember movement and focuses on raising awareness and support for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health initiatives. While the event is known for its stylish dress code and impressive motorcycles, its core purpose remains centred on encouraging conversation around men’s health and supporting those affected by these challenges.
Riders from across the Eastern Cape are expected to gather at Valley Road Motorcycles from 9am, where the ride will officially begin in true gentlemanly fashion. Participants will showcase an impressive range of classic, vintage and modern-retro motorcycles while dressed in smart attire, creating a unique spectacle on local roads.
The route will see the convoy travel along the scenic coastline with a short regroup stop at Something Good Roadhouse before continuing towards the turnaround point at Schoenmakerskop. Riders will then make their way back to Valley Road Motorcycles to conclude the day’s event where there will be live music, food trucks, lucky draw prizes and a raffle.
Spectators can expect a striking display of motorcycles, camaraderie and coastal cruising as the riders pass through the city in support of an important cause. Organisers are encouraging the public to come out and support the riders along the route while helping spread awareness around prostate cancer and men’s mental health.
With a combination of classic machines, scenic coastal roads and a meaningful message, Sunday’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride promises to once again deliver a memorable day for riders and supporters alike.
