Victory Raceway on Victoria Drive will host the second round of their Dirt Oval Stock-Car Club Championship this evening. Gates are open to the public from 1 pm, with the on-track racing action scheduled to start at 6 pm. Classes that will be in action are the American Saloons, Heavy Metals, 2.1 Modifieds, 1660’s, Pink Rods, Hot Rods and Junior Hot Rods. The racing format for the night’s racing will comprise three heats leading to a final across all classes. Braai facilities will be available, and a host of food stalls. At R50 per ticket, spectators are guaranteed an action-packed evening’s entertainment.

An exciting development in local stock car racing is that PE Oval Track Raceway, based on Mission Road near Greenbushes, has decided to race again under the Motorsport South Africa banner. Thus the regional championship will comprise three rounds at Victory Raceway and three at PEOTR, allowing both clubs to work together to create a more exhilarating show for loyal oval track enthusiasts.

Quentin Ellard (77) hopes to continue his dominant form in the Hot Rod Class after a clean sweep in the championship’s opening round.
